Fantasy Football Scout - GW 8

This is the last GW before an international break which will see some players given a well deserved break and the rest travel across the globe to compete in competitive matches for their country

Once again plenty of absentees as expected with the packed scheduling & players having to isolate due to Covid. Havertz is the latest player that has to isolate and Danny Ings joins the list of notable absentees.

We have an early 16:00 deadline so be wary of that. Press conferences will be popping up all day which will be a big indicator or who will be available for selection, James Rodrigues and Seamus Coleman are doubts for Everton's big clash vs Man Utd on Saturday so keep an eye on the news from Ancelotti there. A cheap option we have liked for a few weeks now is Pedro Neto, he is playing every week for a solid Wolves team who look like they are improving after a sluggish start. He gets into good attacking areas and at 5.5 he will give a solid return.

Callum Wilson, already mentioned by Fantasy Scout, has 6 goals in 7 games and is still only 6.6 (only 0.1 increase). He is just a great fit for the Geordies and with a decent run of 7 games he will provide some amazing value.

Defenders have been hard to gauge so far this season with teams struggling to keep clean sheets. Last week we replaced Castagne with Chilwell who kept a clean sheet in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Burnley but another Chelsea defender who sits top of the pile is Kurt Zouma. He is already has 3 goals to his name this term and with Chelsea looking solid at the back he is another fantastic option at 5.3 Chelsea play Sheff Utd this week who are not the team that was very impressive last season, they are struggling for goals so when they concede, they are finding it tough to get back into matches. Timo Werner is coming into form for this new club and looks like he will kick on now. Harry Kane and Son travel to Birmingham to play West Brom and their form simply can't be ignored. Arsenal also have a nice run of fixtures after a tricky start, last weeks 1-0 over Man Utd may give them the confidence to put a run together, Bellerin is a player who will always get attacking points and Saka is a cheap option who is getting minutes and if his end product can improve, will rack up some points. The Inside Forward team will be replacing Ings with Maupay who faces Burnley, it will leave us with some £'s for a bigger signing after the international break. Our Captain pick this week will be Son. He only played the final 30 minutes in the Europa League last night and plays West Brom who have been struggling at the back. Salah is also in fine form but a trip to the Etihad will be a tight affair. Werner and Kane would also be great choices this week as the big guns are all rising up the premier league table and the main players are performing well.
